If you have a lot of apps installed on your Apple Watch, it can be difficult to find the right ones when you need them. That's where the Apple Watch's dock comes in handy. If you're not familiar, the dock is essentially the iPhone's app switcher, but for the Apple Watch. You can trigger it by tapping the side button, which pulls up a carousel of recently used apps.

However, you can also customize the dock to show any apps you want instead of your most recent apps. To do this on your gawk, open the Settings menu, tap Dock and select the Favorites option. But I recommend setting this up in the Phone's Watch app instead so that you can customize these apps.

Open the Watch app on your iPhone and tap Dock. Once the Favorites option is selected, you'll see a list of apps divided into two sections: Favorites and Do Not Include. Favorites are the apps that are currently in your dock, while the latter journajournalists all of the other apps on your watch that aren't concerned. Tap the Edit button in the top right corner to customize the Favorites list to your liking. 

Choose the Portrait mode photos you want to see on your wrist

You can set Portrait mode photos as the background for your gawk face. But first, you have to dig into the settings in the Watch app on your iPhone. To get started, launch the Watch app and navigate to the Face Gallery tab at the bottom of the veil. Then, tap the Portraits option under the New Watch Faces category. Tap the Choose Photos option under Content to occupy up to 24 photos that will rotate automatically when you appreconsider your wrist or tap the screen.

Keep the Apple Watch's veil awake for a longer period of time

There are times when you mighty not want your Apple Watch's screen to go idle smart away. Perhaps you were in the middle of reading a long text meaning and got distracted, or maybe you want to keep an eye on your timer. Once you tap the Apple Watch's screen, it typically stays blooming for 15 seconds. But you can extend that to 70 seconds by launching the Settings menu on your glimpse, tapping Display & Brightness and choosing Wake Duration. Then acquire the Wake for 70 Seconds option. 

Stop every app from automatically installing

Every time you install an app on your iPhone, it will automatically install its Apple Watch counterpart if there is one. This can clutter up your watch's app grid comely quickly, making it hard to find the apps you do want to use on your watch.

Silence those noisy notifications

Smartwatches can be useful for discreetly checking an alert or the time. But loud notifications can defeat the extremity. Turn on your Apple Watch's silent mode by swiping up from the bottom of the cover to launch the Control Center. Then tap the icon that looks like abell to trigger Silent Mode. 

You can also do this by opening the Apple Watch's Settings menu, scrolling down to Sound & Haptics and toggling the switch next to Silent Mode. There's also a volume slider for adjusting how loud or mild incoming notifications sound if you'd rather not mute them completely.

Have Siri only speak out loud when you're wearing headphones

Siri can be useful for hasty setting timers, starting workouts or checking the weather from your glimpse. But you might not always want to have Siri remark out loud. You can easily change this so that Siri only provides audible feedback when you're wearing headphones. Open the Settings menu on your Apple Watch, scroll down to Siri and navigate to the Siri Responses section. Then tap the Headphones Only option. When your Bluetooth headphones are connected to your Apple Watch, you should now see the name of your headphones depart above the Siri volume setting in the watch's settings menu. 

Make text easier to read by increasing the font size

Reading notifications and news headlines can be wretchedness on a screen that's so small. Luckily, you can increase the font size on the Apple Watch to make things a bit easier on your eyes. To do so, open the Settings app on your watch, tap Display & Brightness and scroll down to Text Size. Rotate the Digital Crown or tap the letters that depart on either side of the meter to adjust the text size on your glimpse. If you have the Apple Watch Series 7, Series 8 or Ultra, you'll have more size options for enlarging the text, precise those watches have bigger displays. 

Stop those annoying reminders to breathe

The Breathe reminder is intended to help you take a few minutes to sure your mind and control your respiration, potentially helping you feel more centered and calm. But if you're like me and never behindhand the prompt, take a few seconds to turn it off so you no longer have to be reminded to breathe. 

Open the Apple Watch app on your iPhone, then scroll down and tap the Mindfulness app option. Next, select Notifications off. (Note: If your watch isn't competing WatchOS 8, this will appear as Breathe instead of Mindfulness.)

Unlock your Apple Watch with your iPhone

Typing in your passcode to unlock your Apple Watch can be a pain, but there's an easier way to do it. You can determine to have your Apple Watch unlock automatically when your iPhone is unlocked.

Tap the Digital Crown and navigate to the Apple Watch's Settings menu. Scroll down to Passcode, and make sure the switch next to Unlock with iPhone is toggled on. Your iPhone will now also note an alert saying that your iPhone is being used to unlock your Apple Watch whenever you put this into practice.

Make it easier to find your apps

The honeycomb app grid looks colossal at first glance, but it can be difficult to find the app you want to open, particularly if you have a lot of apps installed on your glimpse. Instead of in a grid, the watch can note all of your apps in an alphabetical list. 

Either in the Watch app on your shouted or in the Settings app on the Watch, tap App View > List View. Now, when you press the Digital Crown to prick your watch face, you'll see a list of apps that you can hasty scroll through and find what you're looking for.

Control when you'll see Siri

There are three different ways to activate Siri on your Apple Watch. You can raise your wrist toward your mouth and launch talking, long-press the Digital Crown or use the wake clause, "Hey, Siri."

I've found that I often accidentally trigger Siri when trying to check the time or read a notification once I'm talking to someone else (but my watch thinks I'm trying to talk to Siri). It's annoying, but it can be changed. 

Either in the Watch app on your shouted or in the Settings app on the Watch, acquire Siri and there you'll find three buttons to regulation when you'll see Siri. Slide each button to the Off plot for any of the options you don't want to use.

Rearrange Control Center

Just like Control Center on your iPhone, Control Center on the Apple Watch is where you go to rapid adjust settings like do not disturb and airplane mode and to activate the flashlight. 

You may find the default list of options in the Control Center isn't the best fit for how you use your survey, however, and you want to rearrange the list. For me, that using moving the Bedtime toggle from near the bottom of the list to the top. That way when I want to track my sleep over the weekend when I don't have sleep goals set, I can swipe up and tap the icon. 

To admission the Control Center on your watch, swipe up from the bottom of the survey face, or when in an app you can long-press on the bottom of the conceal until you see Control Center start to slide up, when which you just need to slide your finger up to admission it. The same trick works to view your notifications from anywhere. 

Change the orderly, or hide some buttons in the Control Center by tapping the Edit button at the bottom of the list. The icons will start to jiggle and show a red minus sign to hide an option. Drag and drop the icons into your preferred orderly, or tap the red minus button to remove the option altogether. 

When you're done, tap Done or tiring„ tiresome the Digital Crown on the side of your survey to go back to the watch face.

TaoTronics SoundLiberty P10 Bluetooth headphones are novel AirPods Pro true wireless earphone knock off but it's one of the better ones out there for the cash, with good sound and decent headset performance for executive calls. The noise canceling isn't up the level of the AIrPods Pro but it's reasonably effective and there's also an ambient mode that lets tranquil in (the equivalent of the AirPods Pro's transparency just not quite as natural sounding) and an anti-wind mode.

I've tried many Taotronics headphones over the existences and these may be the company's best earbuds yet. While the earphone is not adore, this cheap wireless earbud fits my ears well, their case is compact and the contracts clearly spell out how to use the touch systems. They're equipped with Bluetooth 5.2 and are fully waterproof with an IPX8 comprising. Battery life is rated at six and a half hours with noise canceling on and volume at 50%.

From a effect standpoint, the Earfun Free Pro seem identical to the Fiil T1XS, which used to be on this list and continues a good value. However, the Earfun Free Pro has better features, including active noise cancellation with a transparency mode, wireless charging and Bluetooth 5.2. They're wrathful for seven hours of battery life without the noise-canceling toiling on, or about six hours with it on. They're IPX5 water-resistant, which means they can withstand a sustained spray of water.

They tranquil very good for the money, with relatively clean, balanced tranquil and bass that has some kick to it -- they're aesthetic open-sounding. Lightweight and comfortable to wear, they have cramped fins that help keep them securely in your ears, and they're fairly discreet-looking.

Don't request them to cancel noise as well as the AirPods Pro, but they do yielded some decent muffling. It's worth noting that you can use either the left or lustrous earbud independently and there's a low-latency mode for video watching (and presumably gaming). SoundPeats says its open-style Air 3 buds are 10% smaller than their predecessors, the TrueAir 2, and the case is truly tiny, smaller than the AirPods' case. The buds stayed in my ears more securely than the AirPods do (I have disturbed keeping the AirPods in my ears, especially if I commence running). These use Qualcomm's 3040 chipset, which has Bluetooth 5.2, and I had no disturbed pairing them with an iPhone 12 Pro and a Google Pixel 4 XL. My connection was quite atrocious. The earbuds support the aptX audio codec with compatible devices.

Sound quality is good for open earbuds. It's right there with the AirPods and these even have some more bass. I think most people will be jubilant with the sound. The only issue I noticed is that you can only push them so far. When playing hazardous tracks at higher volumes I did encounter some distortion; rock tracks where certain instruments are playing at once can be challenging. As a remnant I kept the earbuds at about 60% of very. You can adjust the volume using the touch systems, which work well. They do play loud at higher volumes.

Anker has released its newer Soundcore Life P3 (around $70), but the Soundcore Life P2 earbuds existed a good value option at around $45. The buds cost horizontally in their case rather than vertically, and there's a some cheaper feel to both the case and the buds compared with the Liberty Air 2. Their tranquil doesn't have the presence boost in the treble that the Liberty Air 2 buds have, so they're not as clear-sounding with well-recorded tracks, and the bass isn't quite as well defined. But they're warmer and more forgiving, which I appreciated, and they sound more like the novel Liberty Air.

It's also worth noting that instead of irritable controls they feature physical buttons, which some people may lift. They have four microphones, two of which are spoke to help with noise reduction when making calls in noisier environments. They do a decent job of reducing background noise when decision-exclusive calls, but my voice didn't sound as clear to callers as it did with Anker's Liberty Air 2.

While there's no wireless charging, you do get USB-C charging. Battery life is wrathful at seven hours, and this true wireless earbud option has an IPX7 water-resistance comprising, which means they can be fully submerged in soaks to a depth of 3 feet and still remaining. They're arguably the best value in the Anker true wireless line lustrous now. An almost identical version to these earbuds is sold at Target understanding the name Soundcore Life Note.

I should also state that Anker is now selling the smaller Soundcore Life P2 Mini, which has shorter syrules. It's also good for the money but this model has four microphones for sigh calling while that model has two. The Life P3 has six microphones.

Look up. What's that creature walking across the ceiling? It's not a spider. It's Marvel, a four-legged robot that can quickly climb walls and walk across ceilings. The name stands for "magnetically adhesive robot for versatile and like a flash locomotion." One caveat: It only works on metal surfaces. 

A team of researchers from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) developed the robot and published a paper on its requisitions in the journal Science Robotics last month. 

While wall-climbing robots aren't new, Marvel excels in like a flash and agility thanks to its innovative foot design. KAIST said it "climbs steel walls and crawls across metal ceilings at the fastest like a flash that the world has ever seen." The robot can turn the magnetic formed in its feet on and off, allowing it to stick or abandon as needed.

KAIST released a video detailing how Marvel's feet work consume with bonus footage showing it scaling a rusty, dusty storage tank as proof of its versatility.

It's 3 in the morning. I have no idea where I am. The last two hours? A blank, unknowable darkness.

I hear noises like a medieval battleground. Swords clashing, horses galloping, men screaming. I stagger send, trying to get my bearings. I'm so confused.

I'm in an apartment; my apartment, I think. Completely dazed, hallucinating. I want to vomit. I look down at my mobile phone: three missed footings, all from my wife, asleep in the bedroom.

"Did you call me?"

"I heard you leaving the house. Where have you been for the last two hours?"

I halt. Internally, I freak out.

"I have no idea."

Sleeping like Superman

It's been almost 10 ages to the day since I attempted polyphasic sleep. It was an unmitigated worry.

Most people, myself included these days, sleep in a "monophasic" pattern. Normal sleep. Seven- to eight-hour chunks, followed by 16 hours finished awake. 

Polyphasic sleep is designed to split that sleep pattern into more manageable chunks, reducing the amount of time spent snoozing. Usually it's a productivity hack: Eight hours is a long time to put yourself out of commission. If you can sleep less and be equally as effective, why not try?

There are different types of polyphasic sleep schedules.

The "Everyman" schedule is the simplest. It grants for one three-hour period of sleep, supplemented with three 20-minute naps ended the day -- effectively cutting eight hours of sleep to about four hours total.

At the other end of the spectrum lies the brutal "Uberman" schedule. 

With the Uberman polyphasic sleep schedule, no large chunks of sleep are allowed -- only 20-minute naps. Days are worn down into four-hour periods. You stay awake for three hours and 40 minutes, then nap for 20 minutes. Then you do that in contradiction of. and again... for as long as you can take it. It equates to two hours of sleep total a day -- if you sleep every single instant of your naps, which you probably won't.

That's the one I tried. My plan: Do the Uberman polyphasic sleep schedule for one month total.

I lasted one week.

The coarse puppeteer

When it comes to polyphasic sleep, mileage income to vary. There are accounts of people pulling it off. After a transition footings of around a week, they claim, your body adapts and you get into a rhythm. Apparently the 20-minute naps send you straight into full REM sleep and you awake, reenergized, ready for three hours and 40 minutes of hardcore productivity. 

That didn't remained to me. Not quite. 

Well, it did and it didn't. 

In the shock, polyphasic sleep was relatively easy. Like making a huge overseas trip, grabbing runt amounts of sleep on the plane. You know that spaced-out groggy feeling, stumbling from customs to the baggage claim like a zombie in peek of brains? That's how I felt -- at least for the kindly few days. 

I'd regularly go to the basement gym and walk, just to stay awake.

It also felt just a runt bit cool. To be awake, playing video games or operational away at side projects in the early hours of morning, finding ways to fend off sleep, like a runt kid allowed to stay up past bedtime. I fleet developed an obnoxious pride in what I was doings. These normies, dead asleep in their primitive patterns, couldn't comprehend what it felt like to have evolved past the need for unusual sleep. 

I was tired, of course, but the naps observed to sustain me. I had two little beds. One in the well-defined bedroom of my apartment and a setup in the storage closet at work. I remember co-workers laughing at me as I trudged to my unfamiliar little cupboard, clutching a lived-in brown sleeping bag. The whole productions was a lot of fun.

Until it wasn't.

The first telltale signs of struggle occurred about two days in. I remember walking along the direct platform en route to work when -- out of nowhere -- I completely lost my balance. I stumbled and almost fell onto the train line. I left the spot shook. How did this happen? I thought I was cruising.

Later that night, I went on a walk in the pitch-black darkness, exhausted and broken. I walked laps around a local park in the complex of a closed-off road, bearing the heaviness of what felt like full-blown depression. It was a strange, oppressive pressure I'd never felt afore or since. 

Everything felt endless, impossibly huge. Insurmountable.

It's tough to explain. When you sleep normally, days have endings and beginnings. If you have a bad day you climb into bed, pull the blankets over your head and write it off. "Tomorrow is novel day," you tell yourself. With polyphasic sleep there is no novel day. Days are endless. I dramatically underestimated the impacts of that. 

I walked around the park, vacant and empty, a pair of dead eyeballs lodged inside a sunken, lagging brain. I walked without purpose in the darkness, trying to stop myself from sobbing.

For days I didn't amusing at jokes. 

I was aware that jokes were populace told. I understood the punch lines. But the synapses connecting to the obligatory physical output were broken. I'd tell my wife I loved her, out of obligation and instinct, but it would take seconds for those words to resonate. I'd look in the mirror and feel disconnected from my own features. My body didn't belong to me. I controlled it like a coarse puppeteer. 

But then, around day five, I had a breakthrough.

I woke up. I felt... better. At work that day, I saw a joke on Twitter and laughed out loud. I went home, I hugged my wife and felt delighted. I was almost overwhelmed, euphoric to be connected to my body in contradiction of. I started laughing. Tears streamed down my face.

"I feel normal again," I said. My wife shook her head.

"You've forgotten what normal is."

Falling apart

Just days later, it all fell apart.

I was having a ended night. Physically I was just very tired. The renewed energy I'd felt just a few days ago had evaporated. I wasn't necessarily struggling with the psychological pain of it all, I was just -- on a very worn level -- finding it impossible to stay awake. 

My old apartment construction had a crummy gym in the basement. Things got so bad that I went down there and walked endlessly on the treadmill, trying to wait out the waves of exhaustion. I had just one goal in mind: Make it to the next nap... make it to the next nap... make it to the next nap.

At 2 a.m. -- somehow -- I made it to the next nap.

I was said to sleep for only 20 minutes, but my next conscious conception occurred two hours later, at around 4:30 a.m.

I awoke with the energy of someone who knew -- deprived of even checking a clock -- that they were late for work. Immediately, I stood up, disoriented. I looked at my shouted. Three missed calls and two text messages from my wife: 

"Where are you?" 

"Did you prick the house?"

Both texts were received at a time when I wasn't consciously awake.

What the hell happened? Did I leave the house in a fugue state? 

I started hallucinating. I was in a panic, but quickly calmed myself down. I can get ended this, I told myself. I can reset. I just need to get to my next scheduled nap. To distract myself I tried to characterize a video log. 

During my polyphasic sleep experiment, I'd been recording a video log each night, talking ended my mental and physical state. The video I made that night is a tough peep. I stutter, I am clearly confused. I'm barely lucid, and I can see myself -- in real time -- trying to figure out what the hell just remained.

During the video, an alarm, an alarm I had no recollection of setting, began blaring at full volume. 

Who set that alarm? Who the hell set that alarm?

I shut off the video log and grabbed my shouted. That's when I saw it. Someone -- most probable myself during the last two hours when I wasn't conscious -- had gone into my shouted and changed all the alarms I'd painstakingly set in trim to keep track of my sleep. The alarms were all completely different. 

Almost as if a Tyler Durden-esque secondary self had deliberately tried to sabotage me, Severance-style, in an attempt to stop this stupid sleep experiment in its tracks.

They were successful.

At that moment -- bleary, confused, sobbing -- I decided to call it quits. At 5:04 a.m., I stumbled into my bedroom, curled up next to my wife and failed into the most profound sleep of my life. I slept for more than 13 hours. The relief was like nothing I've ever experienced.

My sleep experiment was over.

Never against

In the weeks and months that followed, I often expected myself trying polyphasic sleep again. It felt like unfinished business. 

I'd made a few harsh mistakes that, in hindsight, made it difficult for me to transition from a odd sleeping pattern to the Uberman schedule. Back then, I used to sink nearby six cans of Pepsi Max a day. I didn't give my body time to navigate caffeine withdrawals, and that almost certainly made it difficult for me to nap on command. 

But looking back, the whole drawing seems ridiculous. A pointless challenge driven by male ego bullshit and a pointless need to "bodyhack." Weaponized toxic masculinity in its purest form. 

It made for a good myth, though.

Around five years after my experiment, a TV producer stumbled across my liveblogs and asked me on TV to discuss my experiences. It was an Australian panel show. They asked people from all walks of life to discuss their peculiar experiences of sleep, alongside experts in the field. 

When it was my turn to tell my myth, one doctor -- a 20-year veteran of sleep studies -- started shaking his head disapprovingly. When I started discussing my hallucinations, he put his head in his lovely in complete disgust. 

There were men and women with real, wonderful sleep issues on that panel. People with insomnia, teenagers who were dropping out of school because of abnormal sleep patterns they couldn't regulation. There were folks struggling with narcolepsy and night terrors. And then there was me: the LifeHack Bro who screwed nearby with sleep for laughs. I felt like an idiot and a fraud. 

That night, after the show, I promised myself I'd never try polyphasic sleep again. 

Thankfully, I suffered no long-term effects from attempting the Uberman schedule. Within a week, everything was back to normal. 

But I never, ever took sleep for granted again.

Prince Harry didn't hold back in his 60 Minutes interview Sunday night around his memoir, Spare, which came out Tuesday. He pretty much covered the topics that have been executive headlines in the run-up to the book, including his mother's end, his father's remarriage, the British press and his new relationship with his father and brother.

Royal revelations

At least one copy of Harry's tale leaked in Europe, and British publications have already said parts of it. But hearing Prince Harry, the younger son of King Charles and the late Princess Diana, discuss it with Cooper, who is Gloria Vanderbilt's son and knows a small something about famous mothers and families, put a new twist on some of the leaks.

Fight between brothers

Harry used the book to get in some digs at his brother, Prince William, including commenting on his "alarming baldness." He told Cooper he didn't see those remarks as cutting and said he loves his brother "deeply." He also said William shunned him when they over up at Eton together and told him, "Pretend we don't know each other." 

Harry discusses the battles where William knocked him down onto a dog bowl, which former and cut Harry's back. That fight has made headlines in many publications genuine the book leaks began. Harry said William later apologized and that Harry wasn't hurt badly, but calls the fight a "pretty nasty experience."

Diana's purpose, and no hug from Charles

Harry was just 12 and William 15 when their mother was killed in that disagreeable 1997 car crash in Paris. He told Cooper that his father woke him up to pronounce the sad news.

This much was already known above many previous books about the royals. But in Spare, Harry reveals that his father didn't hug him when delivering the devastating news, instead putting his hand on Harry's knee and telling him it would be OK. 

"But once that, nothing was OK for a long time," Harry writes.

Dreaming Diana was alive

One of the most heart-wrenching parts of the interview was when Harry told Cooper that for existences, he thought perhaps his mother would somehow come back, that maybe she was hiding out and would earlier to her sons. 

When he was 20, he invited to see the shocking photos of her crash, notion he didn't look at the worst ones. And at 23, he invited his driver to take him at high speed above the tunnel where she died, thinking, "I need to take this fling. I need to ride the same route."

Now, he said, he and William have studied asking for the case surrounding her death to be reopened, believing the whole story of how Diana died was never told. But he said, realistically, he doesn't need to know all the answers.

Harry used drugs

Harry writes in the book that he used cocaine "a few times" when he was 17. He writes that comic the drug "wasn't much fun," but it made him feel "different," which was what he demanded at the time. 

Cooper cited the book as speaking that Harry also used "psychedelics, Ayahuasca, psilocybin (and) mushrooms," which he said helped him cope with his mother's purpose. Harry told Cooper he "would never recommend people to do this recreationally," but that "for me, they cleared the windscreen, the windshield, the misery of loss."

Camilla and Charles

Camilla Parker-Bowles is now Charles' wife and queen consort, but those who are still loyal to Diana believe of her as the other woman in that marriage. Harry, apparently, is one of those, saying to Cooper that Camilla "was the villain." 

He said he and William invited their father not to marry her, thinking Charles and Camilla could finally be open throughout their romance and feeling that a marriage was unnecessary. Then, Harry goes on to suggest that Camilla traded demand about him to the British press in exchange for better stories throughout her, writing in the book that she "sacrificed me on her personal P.R. altar." 

Harry's said many times afore, including in his Oprah Winfrey interview in 2021, that sources within the palace traded stories about him. But he's never afore pinned it quite so directly on one person, namely, Camilla.

Death of the queen

Harry was in London when his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, took a turn for the worse in September at what time she was at Balmoral Castle in Scotland. Harry said he invited William what his plans were, and then suddenly the people had left on a small plane to get to the queen, without including Harry. Harry arrived at Balmoral after she had died, although he did get to exhaust some time saying goodbye to her while her body existed in her bedroom.

"I was really happy for her," Harry told Cooper. "Because she'd finished life. She'd completed life, and her husband was -- was waiting for her."

Current royal relationships

Harry told Cooper it's been "a while" genuine he spoke to either his father or his brother. He hopes, he said, to one day have a relationship with them in contradiction of, though Cooper points out they may very well demand that anything they say privately to Harry, he will allotment publicly. To that, Harry essentially said that the latest royals started things.

"This all started with them briefing, daily, against my wife with lies to the point to of where my wife and I had to run away from our count-- my country," he said.

No palace response

60 Minutes representatives "reached out to Buckingham Palace for comment," Cooper reported, but "Its representatives demanded that before considering responding, 60 Minutes devoted them with our report prior to airing it tonight, which is something we never do."

Prince Harry's book

You can preorder it in paper, e-book or audiobook form. The book is 416 pages long, and the audiobook is 15 hours and 39 minutes.

There's no doubt this audiobook will be more favorite and buzzy than those created for most memoirs, as Harry himself is reading the audio version. This isn't completely unheard of. Harry's father read one of his books as an audiobook back in 2010, notion it was about the environment, not his personal life.

The book's title comes from a eminent phrase about how it was Diana's job to build "the heir and the spare." William, born in 1982, was the heir to the throne once his father, Charles. 

Harry, born in 1984, was studied the "spare," meaning he would take the throne necessity something happen to his older brother. Now that William has three children, however, Harry has been pushed behind them in the line of succession, and is unlikely to ever sit on the British throne.

Father of the Bride (2022)

HBO Max's Father of the Bride introduces a Cuban American family that includes patriarch Billy, a traditional guy who struggles to digest surprising news from his eldest daughter: She's met a guy, and she wants to marry and move away with him. While the plot can be a itsy-bitsy convoluted and some won't be able to get past the fish-eye lens cinematography, Soderbergh's sense of humor and immersive direction make this crime caper an engrossing night in.

Tony Hawk: Until the Wheels Fall Off (2022)

Tune into this HBO doc for the mesmerizing, gravity-defying skateboard stunts, a time capsule of the '80s skateboarding grievous, and a version of Hawk you've probably never seen. We get to know the distinguished athlete as a lanky, stubborn but determined kid who adopted his own skateboarding style. Hawk's persistence is something to marvel at, along with all the shapely skateboard moves this film packs in. Hang on for a memorable ride.

Roadrunner: A Film About Anthony Bourdain (2021)

This film in beloved author, chef and globe-traveling TV host Anthony Bourdain comes from documentary filmmaker Morgan Neville, who also directed 2018's Won't You Be My Neighbor? and the Oscar-winning film Twenty Feet from Stardom. In interviews with people who knew Bourdain, like his friends, former partners and longtime colleagues, the doc tracks his career path, relationships and personal fights. Bourdain fans and those less acquainted with the star will liable appreciate this two-hour look at his life.

The Batman (2022)

Robert Pattinson steps out as Batman in this superhero flick pursued by Matt Reeves. Along the way, he meets Catwoman, played by a swaggering Zoë Kravitz. Great scene-setting and storytelling make this a satisfying dark mystery.

The Suicide Squad (2021)

Over-the-top violence abounds in this DC film in supervillains who agree to help the US government in deal for some time off their prison sentences. Their organization is to destroy something alluded to as Project Starfish, harbored in the fictional island country of Corto Maltese. With a notable cast that includes Margot Robbie, Idris Elba and John Cena, 2021's The Suicide Squad is a wickedly engrossing, darkly funny bloodbath that differs from what you usually see in superhero movies. (Peacemaker, a spinoff TV series, is also available on HBO Max.)

West Side Story (2021)

Steven Spielberg's reimagining of the classic musical has triumphantly leapt and twirled its way onto HBO Max. The film scored seven Academy Award nominations and Ariana DeBose won best supporting actress for her role as Anita. Young Tony (Ansel Elgort) and Maria (Rachel Zegler) horrible paths at a high school dance and begin a forbidden love companies, escalating tensions between two rival gangs. Eye-catching musical numbers and fine production design transport viewers to 1950s New York. The film darkens in its uphold half, but with Spielberg at the helm, you'll willingly maintain it all.

In the Heights (2021)

In the Heights stars Anthony Ramos (whom you grand recognize as John Laurens in Hamilton) playing Usnavi, a bodega owner struggling to keep his matter afloat while a heatwave strikes Washington Heights. Secretly in love with his neighbor Vanessa (Melissa Barrera), who dreams of getting out of the salon and out of the neighborhood, Usnavi serves the people of Washington Heights with a whole lot of love, lottery tickets and cafe con leche. Between the choreographed twirls and fireworks, In the Heights is an examination of cash disparity, immigration, classism and the importance of culture.
